CLEP Math Test
CLEP or College Level Examination Program holds a series of exams for college-going students. Among those exams, the CLEP Math test is held mainly for assessing the mathematical knowledge of college students with non-mathematics majors. The exam contains 60 multiple choice questions and the time limit to answer those questions is 90 minutes.
The CLEP Math Test covers sections like sets, real number system, logics, graphing and functions, probability, and statistics. The additional topics covered therein are geometry and algebra. The scores that can be achieved in the exam ranges from 20 to 80, which is further converted into grades like A, B, C, D. The higher the student score in a CLEP math test, the higher is his/her chance to get admitted to the best American college.
For preparing for the exam, the college students can choose their choice of study program from the CLEP website. The cost for registration is around $85, and it can be paid through the College Board website as well.
NLN PAX (Verbal, Maths, and Science)
NLN exams stand for National League for Nursing exam. It is a Pre-Admission Examination for prospective students in the nursing domain. By scoring considerable marks in this exam, the nursing students can get admitted to nursing schools across the US. It is a computer-based test, which is followed by a personal interview and documentation. It offers nursing students an opportunity to work on faculty development, testing services, networking opportunities, public policy initiatives, and nursing research grants.
The main sections covered in this exam are Verbal Ability, Mathematics, and Science. It contains 160 multiple-choice questions, in which there are 60 verbal questions, 40 maths questions, and 60 science questions. The total time allotted for attending each section is 40 minutes. To date, the highest score in PAX is 99%.
For preparation, several study guides and practice quizzes have been provided on the official NLN website. The cost of registering for the NLN exam ranges from $975 to $1,150, depending on the season of the exam.
PARCC
Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers or PARCC is the collection of examinations that are mainly for public school students and are held annually. The PARCC test is now called the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments or NJSLA in short. Expertise professors of different subject areas develop the question papers. The purpose of this exam is to ensure that the school students are prepared for getting admitted to different colleges located in 24 different states of the US.
The PARCC exam has two sections, English or language arts, and Mathematics. Both sections consist of several multiple-choice questions that are needed to be answered within the allotted time. The scoring for this exam is marked in levels, where level 1 indicates poor performance and maximum level 5 indicates excellent performance. The cost of appearing for the exam starts from $20.50 per student, which might slightly increase with different cities.
SBAC
SBAC or Smarter Balanced Assessment System is a computer-based text that allows students to check their ability to complete the different assignments. It considers the CCSS standards for testing on English literature and Mathematics. Most of the school students in America are required to give the SBAC or Smarter Balanced Assessment tests and achieve a grade from 3-8 in English and 11 in Math.
The tests have three sections, which have been developed to assist in teaching and learning to the students throughout the academic year. The sections are summative assessments, interim assessments, and formative assessment tools that give students access to the Digital Library.
For English literature and Mathematics tests, there are 30 questions, for which students will be graded between 3 and 8. Training tests are also available where six questions will be given to students for accustoming to the testing software. The cost for each student appearing in the SBAV tests is $22.50 for annually held exams. However, for students who appear for mid-year exams as well, the cost for registration is $27.30 per student.
TSI
TSI test or the Texas Success Initiative Assessment is an education program that determines the suitable level of courses, works for colleges in respect to the prospective students. This exam is made compulsory for students to get admission in Texas colleges. It consists of multiple-choice questions and is conducted online. The TSI exams are managed and controlled by the Testing Services Office to achieve the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements.
The main sections of this exam include Mathematics, Writing, and Reading. A high school student can enrol himself for Dual Credit if he scores 351 in reading, 340 in writing, including 4+ for easy writing, and 350 in Math.
Students can register for TSI tests at any time through online websites; all they have to do is mention the preferred exam dates. The fee for TSI registration is $25 per section and if a student applies for all sections, he/she have to pay $60.
TABE
TABE or Test of Adult Basic Education is an American test that aims to assess the skills and capabilities of individuals, which is going to give them future success. The exams cover different areas of learning, including math, language, and reading. Several American colleges and schools that give associated degrees to students use the score of the TABE test to judge the ability of the students. It has been found that adult learning centres also use the TABE test to see the knowledge and skills of the prospects before joining the adult schools. Hence, the participants for the exam are students and adults.
TABE test is a three-hour long examination available in four versions, depending on the current education level of the eligible student. There are four types of TABE tests, namely TABE 11 & 12 for assessing college and career-readiness standards, computerized exam TABE PC, TABE –Advanced level for higher education, and TABE CLAS-E for students whose first language is not English. The fee for appearing to a TABE exam can be around $15 to $25.
CPAA
The CPAA has been designed to test the progress of a particular student for determining at what point they are sitting on their academic learning stage. This is beneficial for students who have not been able to perform at their best previously. Several students in different countries have been taking this test and it is used to check the knowledge in literature and mathematics. It was introduced by the University of California and is successfully running with the coordination of the National Association of Education for Young Children assessment standards program.
The test is available online as well on the CPAA official website for all students. The tests assist in identifying the areas where a student can improve and the same data is shared with the tutors. The students will get the knowledge in detail answers to their wrong attempts through scaffolding in visual form. The program has been built to assist and prepare students for the future.
